BCCI, once again, drops hints about not touring Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025.
Reports, emanating from the Indian media, suggest that the BCCI (Board of Control of Cricket in India) is likely to request the ICC to have its matches shifted to either Sri Lanka or the UAE for the Champions Trophy 2025. The news is based on a report by ANI quoting a source within the India’s cricket governing body.
This has come after the PCB has submitted a tentative schedule of the Champions Trophy to the ICC. Pakistan has proposed all of India’s matches to be played at one venue, The Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. Pakistan did this to minimise travel for the Indian cricket team within Pakistan during the course of the tournament. However, BCCI, reportedly, has other plans and are planning to have their matches being played in UAE or Sri Lanka
The Pakistan Cricket Board has already embarked on a massive uplifting of its cricket grounds for the upcoming mega event, especially the Gaddafi stadium, Lahore. The coming days will make the picture clearer. However, a strong response from the PCB is expected, were India to proceed with their demand for the hybrid model.
