This years T20 world cup was the 8th edition of the T20 world and for the first time it was scheduled to be played in Australia. The tournament started on the 16th of October with 8 teams divided into 2 groups competing against each other to qualify for the next stage.
The next stage of the tournament consisted of 12 teams divided into 2 groups out of which 4 played the semi finals (Pakistan vs New Zealand & Englandvs India).
The final was played between Pakistan and England. After an exciting match, England emerged as victors of the T20 World Cup 2022. Sam Curran was deemed as player of the tournament.
